Rusty Iron Thai Restaurant Wynyard

Rusty Iron Thai is a small Thai restaurant on Goldie Street in central Wynyard, on Tasmania's north-west coast. Dogs are welcome at the outdoor tables out the front, which makes it a straightforward dinner option in the middle of town with the dog beside you.

The dog setup

Dogs sit at the footpath tables out front, not in the indoor dining room. Keep them on a short lead, because Goldie Street is Wynyard's main drag and the tables sit close to passing traffic. Staff have a friendly reputation and are generally happy to bring water out for dogs, but bring a portable bowl to be safe.

Worth knowing

The menu runs through the Thai standards done properly: larb gai, green chicken curry, penang curry, satay chicken with roti and peanut sauce, hokkien noodles with beef and coconut rice, with a vegan menu covering the plant-based end. Getting there

Goldie Street is the main commercial strip through Wynyard, with the Inglis River and its riverside walks a couple of blocks north. Street parking runs along the strip, and the town sits on the Bass Highway about 20 minutes east of Burnie.
