Phaboonchai Thai Restaurant

Phaboonchai Thai Restaurant trades dinner only, five nights plus Sunday evenings, from a small shopping complex at Shop 17, 202A Beechworth Road in Wodonga. The kitchen covers the classics and the less common ones: duck curry, pork belly stir-fry, laab, laksa, cashew vegetables and coconut rice, with no corkage fee if you bring your own bottle. It is regarded as one of the better-value Thai kitchens on the border.

The dog setup

Business listings note dogs allowed both inside and in the outdoor areas, but the dining room is small, so call ahead on 0432 553 408 and confirm there is space for your dog on the night, and mention where you would prefer to sit. Dedicated water bowls are not a listed feature, so bring your own. Because it is an evening-only venue, this is a dinner stop rather than a lunch leg-stretch.

Getting there and parking

The restaurant is in a small shopping complex on Beechworth Road with a free on-site car park and street parking alongside. Hours run Tuesday to Saturday 5pm to 9pm and Sunday 5pm to 8:30pm, closed Mondays.
