A coastal Mexican hangout on South Terrace doing fire-cooked food, tacos and margaritas. For dog owners the key feature is the large covered courtyard, which keeps pups comfortable whatever the weather.

The dog setup. Dogs are welcome in the courtyard, a big covered outdoor area, but not inside the main building. Rules are simple: leashed at all times and kept on the ground rather than on the seats. Bring your own water bowl or ask the staff for one.

Good to know. Known for fish tacos, hand-crushed potatoes, sweet potato splinters and a serious tequila and mezcal list. It is a popular spot for long Sunday lunches, and the courtyard is wheelchair accessible through the front gate.

Getting there. 400 South Terrace. Open Wed-Thu from 4pm and Fri-Sun from midday. Free street parking on South Terrace and nearby side streets, though it can be limited.

Nearby with the dogs. South Beach and the off-leash area are a short walk south for a run, and South Terrace has plenty more dog-friendly tables for an afternoon out.
