B. Social Restaurant - Events - Venue Hire - Adelaide

B. Social is a modern Italian restaurant, bar and events space in Oakden, in Adelaide's north-east, about 10km from the CBD. Wood-oven pizza and pasta anchor the menu, weekend live music fills the calendar, and the pet-friendly courtyard out back is what earns it a place on a dog owner's list.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome in the designated outdoor courtyard, which is open across the weekend, but not inside the restaurant. Keep your dog leashed beside the table and bring your own water bowl rather than counting on one being offered. Because the courtyard doubles as the venue's entertainment space, weekends bring noise as well as atmosphere.

The vibe

The kitchen runs all day, from breakfast into dinner, with wood-oven pizzas (including gluten-free bases), pasta, schnitzels and grazing platters, plus a licensed bar out the back. Live music and events, from local bands to the odd themed night, land mostly on Saturday evenings and Sunday afternoons. Family-friendly and loud in a good way, it suits easygoing dogs more than nervous ones.

Getting there and parking

The venue is at 246 Fosters Road, Oakden SA 5086, with on-site parking, which is a rarity for this stretch. Fosters Road is a busy arterial, so the courtyard position helps keep the meal itself away from traffic noise.

Max: Good pizza, a band warming up, and my own patch of courtyard. Weekday visits are my favourite though, when it's quieter.

Close by with the dogs

The Bentley Reserve in neighbouring Holden Hill is the closest run for the dog, and the Walkley Heights Walking Trail makes a longer on-lead loop a few minutes north. For a morning coffee before the courtyard opens, Muddy Waters Coffee House is just down the road.
