Jericho

Jericho is a relaxed coastal restaurant and tavern at 23 Roderick Street in the heart of the Moffat Beach dining strip, close enough to the sand for a post-swim breakfast or a long casual dinner. Dogs are welcome at the outdoor tables, which makes it an easy stop either side of a walk along the Caloundra coastline.

The dog setup

Dogs are permitted at the shaded outdoor tables, and the setup is friendlier than most: lead hooks and clean water bowls are provided, so you are not balancing a lead on your knee. Keep your dog leashed and settled at your feet through busy meal services, and check the current arrangement at the door since outdoor seating can shift with weather and events.

The vibe and the food

The kitchen runs an all-day modern Australian menu with daily specials: freshly shucked oysters with daily deals, a prawn roll, a solid steak sandwich, tomahawk steaks, small plates, vegetarian and vegan options, Sunday roasts and gelato for the table. The bar backs it up with cold beers on tap, cocktails, wine and proper barista coffee, and ordering is by QR code at the table. It suits a relaxed, family-friendly session rather than fine dining.

Getting there and parking

The venue is on Roderick Street, with street parking out front and on the surrounding residential streets. It fills on weekends and sunny afternoons, so allow extra time in summer. Doors open at 7am daily; Monday and Sunday close at 6pm, Tuesday to Thursday at 9pm, and Friday and Saturday at 10pm.

Nearby with the dogs

The Moffat Beach coastal pathway runs straight past for an on-lead walk either side of the meal, and Coochin Park dog off-leash area at Dicky Beach is a short drive south for a proper run.
