BoscoNero Italian

BoscoNero Italian is a casual neighbourhood restaurant and bar on the Blackwood Street dining strip in Mitchelton, right across from the train station. It does authentic Italian food and a solid cocktail and wine list, and dogs are welcome at the outdoor tables on the footpath.

The dog setup. Dogs are allowed at the outdoor seating on the street-facing footpath, not indoors. Keep your dog leashed and settled under or beside the table so staff and other diners can get past. Water bowls are usually out for the pet-friendly strip, but it is worth bringing your own bowl in case one is not free when you arrive.

Known for. Authentic Italian dishes with gluten-free options, arancini, porchetta pizza, and a well-regarded cocktail and wine list. Tiramisu comes up often as the dessert to order.

Getting there and parking. BoscoNero is at 9/48 Blackwood St, Mitchelton. Free street parking runs along Blackwood Street, plus a free public car park nearby. It is directly opposite Mitchelton train station on the Ferny Grove line, so it is an easy one if you are coming by rail. Open Wednesday to Sunday for lunch and dinner, closed Monday and Tuesday, so check before you head over.

Blackwood Street itself is walkable with plenty of other cafes to browse, and Kedron Brook's off-leash areas are close by if your dog needs a run before or after the meal.
