Stav’s Kantina

Stav's Kantina is a Greek street food eatery at Shop 3, 5 Forest Park Street in Meridan Plains, on the Sunshine Coast's inland edge, serving yiros, mezze and loaded bowls from a fast-casual counter. Dogs are welcome at the outdoor seating, and with three fenced dog parks within a few minutes' drive, it slots neatly into a park-then-dinner run.

The dog setup

Dogs sit in the outdoor area covering the footpath and courtyard space in front of the venue; indoor dining is off limits. Keep your dog leashed and close to the table so staff and other patrons can move freely. Water bowls often make an appearance, but bring your own portable bowl to be safe, especially at the busier weekend sessions.

The vibe

The cooking is honest Greek street food: pork belly yiros, souvlaki skewers, halloumi fries, baba ghanoush and other fresh dips, with baclava to finish. Service is quick and the setting is casual, so it suits an easy lunch or early dinner rather than a long seated affair. Hours run Wednesday to Friday from 5pm to 8pm, Saturday from 11am to 3pm and again from 5pm to 8pm, and Sunday from 11am to 3pm, with Mondays and Tuesdays closed. Weekday evenings are the quietest window for an outdoor table.

Getting there and parking

The venue sits in a small commercial strip off Meridan's main roads, roughly 10 minutes inland from Kawana Waters. Parking is free street parking along Forest Park Street and the surrounding commercial area, a short flat walk to the door.

The dog park options here are unusually good: Meridan Downs Off Leash Dog Park and Little Mountain Common Fenced Dog Park are both nearby in Little Mountain, and Ridgehaven Park Fenced Dog Park in Currimundi adds a third.
