Glasshouse Tavern

The Glasshouse Tavern is a renovated country pub at 10 Reed Street in the heart of Glass House Mountains, just off Steve Irwin Way. It runs long hours, opening 10am most days, 7:30am Sundays, and pushing past midnight on Friday and Saturday. The kitchen is casual modern Australian pub food with a smoked-meat lean: brisket burgers, beef rib, pork ribs, calamari and steak, plus regular live music in the open-plan space.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome in the covered outdoor alfresco area only, not indoors, and they need to be well behaved and leashed the whole time. The area is spacious and light, which helps larger dogs settle, but bring your own water bowl rather than counting on staff having one spare. If you are travelling with a big dog, call ahead to check which tables have the floor space.

The vibe

It is a family-friendly local that has been done up well, and it doubles as a proper pitstop for travellers between Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast: artisan pizzas and smoked meats after a hike, live music on weekends, weekday lunches much quieter if you want the alfresco area to yourself. Book ahead on weekends if you want a table with the dog.

Getting there and a walk first

Free private parking is on site, with easy access from Steve Irwin Way in the township centre. Pair it with the mountains themselves: Mount Ngungun's walking track takes dogs on leash and is minutes away, or the Mill Park fenced dog park in Beerwah lets the dog run free before a pub lunch.
