NOA Restaurant Cairns

NOA is the Edge Hill Village institution at 1 Pyne Street, a few minutes' walk from the Cairns Botanic Gardens and the Tanks Arts Centre, running from sunrise coffee through dinner most days. It has built its following partly on being genuinely set up for dogs in the outdoor seating, which makes it a natural finish to a morning at the gardens with the leash on.

The menu is modern Australian with an Asian-fusion accent: duck bao buns, prawn toast, grilled scallops, salmon hash and the brunch standards, plus a deep vegetarian and vegan list. There are weekly rituals, including Monday burgers and beers and Thursday all-you-can-eat bao nights, and a daily happy hour from 3 to 5:30pm. Getting there and parking

Edge Hill Village sits about five minutes' drive from Cairns city and a similar distance from the airport. There is free onsite parking plus street parking around the village, though weekend brunch and Thursday dinner squeeze the bays. The Botanic Gardens precinct next door is the walk before or after: Centenary Lakes and the Tanks precinct paths are leash-on but scenic.
