Watch-outs. Because the park is open and shares space with general park users, keep an eye out for other dogs, walkers and cyclists. It gets busiest on weekday mornings and early evenings, and Saturday mornings draw a steady stream of local dog walkers.

Weekday mornings before 8am or after 4:30pm are the regular local rush, aim outside those windows if you want the space to yourselves, and stick to shaded patches in the middle of the day given Cairns heat.
