Little Fire

Little Fire is a fire-cooked bistro and bar at 125 George Street on the East Fremantle dining strip, and it wears its dog welcome openly. Well-behaved dogs are part of the furniture here, joining owners on the verandah and terrace tables out front while the kitchen works the grill.

The dog setup

Dogs sit with you in the outdoor and semi-enclosed areas: the verandah, the terrace and the courtyard, which holds its warmth through the cooler months. Indoor seating is the food service space, so treat it as service dogs only. Water bowls are usually out on the pavement; a portable bowl is a sensible backup on busy nights. The room is bustling and social, so dogs that can settle under a table amid passing diners will do best.

The vibe

The kitchen is built around the fire: nasi goreng, fish tacos, barramundi and a chicken parmi headline, with a solid beer and wine list behind them. Doors swing open from 4pm Wednesday and Thursday, midday Friday and 8am on weekends, running late into the night on Friday and Saturday. Weekend dinners are the busy shift, so book and ask for outdoor seating when you call. Weeknights are the calmer option for a dog still learning restaurant manners.

Getting there and parking

Little Fire sits at 125 George Street, East Fremantle, on the main strip between Canning Highway and the river. Street parking runs along George Street and the adjacent residential blocks, and it gets competitive around Friday and Saturday dinner, so allow a few minutes extra.

Close by with the dogs

Pair dinner with a run at the East Fremantle Community Park fenced dog park, or the Silas Street Reserve fenced area if you want something quieter. For a coffee stop the next morning, Spilt Milk Espresso is on the same strip.
