The short version. Stockmans is a casual burgers, beers and desserts spot on Howard Ave in central Dee Why. Dogs are welcome at the street-side outdoor tables, so it works for a relaxed feed with the dog in tow rather than a formal sit-down.

The dog setup. Bring the dog to the footpath seating out front. Inside is people-only, so aim for an outdoor table and, on a busy evening, consider ordering off-peak when there is room for a dog to settle beside you. Water bowls may be offered on request, but bring your own to be sure.

Good to know. The kitchen is built around wagyu burgers (the Stockman and Wrangler get named a lot), loaded and waffle fries, wings, shakes and a solid beer and cocktail list. It leans afternoon and evening, opening from 4pm early week and around 11am Thursday to Sunday, so check hours before a lunchtime run.

Getting there. Find it at 2/23 Howard Ave. There is free off-street and street parking around Howard Ave, and it is an easy walk from central Dee Why.

Nearby with the dogs. Dee Why Beach and the promenade are a short walk away for an on-leash wander, and the Dee Why Lagoon coastal walk is close by. Keep to the paths, as the Dee Why sand is not a dog area.
