Corretto Dee Why

The short version. Corretto sits right on The Strand at the Dee Why beachfront, doing coffee through to cocktails with a view over the sand. Dogs are welcome at the outdoor beachfront tables, which is the reason to come with the dog: you get the view and the promenade on the doorstep.

The dog setup. Dogs are welcome only in the outdoor and footpath seating facing the beach, not inside. The tables sit on the boardwalk so a dog can settle beside you. If you book online, select outdoor dining to be sure of a dog-friendly table, since the outdoor area is weather-dependent. Staff are welcoming, but bring your own water bowl.

Good to know. The pull is the beach view over Dee Why and across to Long Reef. The kitchen runs breakfast through dinner and is well regarded for steaks, gnocchi, the wagyu burger, fish and chips, arancini and a long cocktail list. Live music and outdoor seating come up often in reviews.

Getting there. Find it at 2/24 The Strand. Metered street parking on The Strand is limited and fills fast on a sunny day; the council parking off Howard Ave or Dee Why Parade is the fallback. Walking in along the promenade is the easiest approach.

Nearby with the dogs. The beachfront path is open to dogs on-leash at all times, and the coastal walk stretches south towards Curl Curl. Dogs are not allowed on the Dee Why sand, but for a proper run, James Meehan Reserve at the south end and the designated area at nearby Long Reef are a short walk away.
