The short version. Adam St Dog Park is the off-leash exercise area on Adam Street in North Curl Curl, the same flat grassy reserve beside the North Curl Curl Community Centre and close to Curl Curl Lagoon. It is an open run for active dogs with a lagoon cool-down a short walk on.

The rules. This is an off-leash area but it is not fully fenced, especially near the road, so keep your dog under voice control and in sight. Dogs must be on-lead in the car park and on footpaths, and are not allowed in the children's play areas, on sports fields in use, or on North Curl Curl Beach sand. Northern Beaches Council caps it at four dogs per person, and you must pick up after your dog; bag dispensers are on-site.

What's there. Flat grass with some shade trees, waste bins and bag dispensers, a water fountain with a dog-bowl attachment, and a few benches. Free street parking on and around Adam Street fills quickly on sunny weekends and in summer.

The road-side entrance is the weak point. Lead on until you are well onto the grass if your dog's recall is not rock solid.

When to go. Weekend mornings and summer evenings are busiest and most social; weekdays and early mornings give a nervous dog more room. Good for a quick, flat off-leash run near the beach.
