Curly's on the Corner

Curly's on the Corner is a long-running neighbourhood cafe at 77 Pitt Road, Curl Curl, trading 6:30am to 2:30pm seven days, and dogs are welcome at the outdoor tables. It is the natural coffee stop either side of a lagoon walk on the Northern Beaches.

The dog setup

Dogs take the footpath and outdoor courtyard seating, not the interior. The outdoor area is sunny and reasonably sheltered, and staff will usually bring out a water bowl for a thirsty dog after the lagoon. Keep your dog on lead and settled beside the table, since the footpath edge sits close to Pitt Road traffic. Weekend mornings fill with locals, many with dogs, so a weekday or an early start gets you the easier table.

The menu

The kitchen goes big on hearty plates: the curly roll and bacon and egg roll for breakfast, an açai bowl and hash browns, burgers and wraps for lunch, plus a tradie special for the value-conscious. Fresh juices and smoothies are a strong point, and the daily specials lean on local producers. Expect generous sizes rather than fine dining, which is exactly what a post-swim crowd wants.

Lagoon walks off lead

The cafe sits within walking distance of the suburb's best dog country: Flora and Ritchie Roberts Reserve is a 24/7 off-leash area on the southern side of Curl Curl Lagoon where dogs can swim, with water stations and waste bins on site, and Adam Street Reserve is a short stroll in the other direction. Note that dogs are prohibited on the sand of Curl Curl Beach itself, so the reserves and lagoon foreshore are the off-lead option. Shaka Cafe over at Freshwater is the nearest alternative dog-friendly coffee stop.
