Aurora & Dusk cafe bistro

Aurora & Dusk is a cafe bistro on the corner of Manning Road and Ley Street in Como, sister venue to Kumo and one of the more talked-about brunch rooms on Perth's southern river side. The kitchen works in an Asian-fusion register, the room is deliberately art-heavy and detailed, and the street-facing outdoor seating is where dogs are welcome, overlooking the Swan River side of the road.

The dog setup

Dogs join you at the outdoor, street-facing tables along Manning Road; the indoor dining room stays people-only. Staff will often bring a water bowl out unprompted, but pack your own in case the morning rush has the floor stretched. The outdoor row is compact, so it suits a settled dog that is happy to sit close rather than sprawl. Standard etiquette applies: lead on, dog beside the table.

The vibe

The menu is the reason people cross town: croissant benny, kimchi udon and other dishes you will not find at the average suburban cafe, alongside specialty drinks such as black sesame and taro lattes plus solid matcha. The interior is a talking point in its own right, built with more visual ambition than the strip usually manages. Hours run 6am to 3pm Wednesday to Friday, 7am to 3pm on weekends, with Tuesdays closed.

Getting there and parking

The address is 2/71 Manning Road, Como WA 6152, just off Melville Parade on the scenic river road. Street parking runs along Melville Parade and the nearby side streets but fills at peak weekend brunch time, so arriving before 8am on a Saturday is the safe play.

While you're out there

The river is the obvious pairing: the South Perth Foreshore walk is minutes away, and Olives Reserve Fenced Dog Park gives a secure off-lead run nearby.
