Latitude 30 Restaurant

Latitude 30 sits upstairs at 8/1 Marina Drive on the Coffs Harbour marina boardwalk, next to the Fishermen's Co-op, with water views across the marina towards Muttonbird Island and the Solitary Islands Marine Park. It is a smart-casual seafood restaurant that takes small dogs on its outdoor deck, which makes it a natural lunch or sunset stop after a walk around the marina precinct.

The dog setup

Dogs are restricted to the outside deck, not the indoor dining rooms, and the policy is aimed at small dogs. The deck is weather dependent: it closes in rain, wind or storms, so call ahead before you commit to the trip with a dog. Shade umbrellas and water bowls are usually available, but bring your own portable bowl to be safe, and keep your dog settled at the table since the deck sits over a working marina.

The menu

This is serious seafood: the platter for two carries fresh local lobster, prawns, bugs, oysters and ceviche with house-made bread, while smaller plates include a seafood mezze with smoked trout pate and king prawns cooked in garlic, chilli, lemon and parsley butter. Daily catches, seafood chowder and fish and chips round it out, and the restaurant opens daily from 11am to 10pm. It is casual enough for a long lunch and polished enough for an anniversary.

Getting there and parking

The restaurant is inside the marina precinct at the end of Marina Drive, with free car parks and free street parking near the marina entrance and close to the front door. The deck is a short walk along the boardwalk from the car parks.

With a dog, the go is the flat marina boardwalk loop and the waterfront lawns on a lead; leave the Muttonbird Island walk for another day because the island is a nature reserve where dogs are not permitted. For an off-lead run, North Wall Beach is a couple of minutes away by car, and the fenced yard at Thompsons Road Reserve works before dinner. The Coffs Creek Walk is another on-leash option nearby.
