Brouhaha Maleny – Kitchen & Taproom

Brouhaha Maleny was the brewery's original Maple Street home, where Brouhaha opened its doors in 2016, with a dog-friendly deck, tasting paddles and a kitchen built around local produce. The venue has now closed: the brewery's own site carries a Maleny Venue Closure notice and marks the Maleny page as closed, pointing everyone to Baringa.

The dog setup it was known for

When trading, well-behaved leashed dogs were welcome on the renovated outdoor deck, with water bowls often out and staff good with dogs, while the indoor taproom stayed people-only. The kitchen ran local-produce plates such as Maleny wagyu sausage and mash and crispy pork belly alongside house brews like the Strawberry Rhubarb Sour and Maleny Lager, and weekend Sunday sessions were the busy draw.

Why it closed and where to go instead

The closure followed the 2023 opening of Brouhaha's purpose-built brewery and taproom at 1 Edison Crescent in Baringa, where around 95% of production now sits; the Maleny site could no longer support the scale the brand needed. The Baringa Brewery and Taproom continues the same lineup on a bigger industrial site about 25 minutes drive away, and the Maleny Lager and Hinterland Pale still carry the original venue's name.

Maleny still has dog-friendly places to eat, including Frank Food & Wine and King Ludwigs German Restaurant on the main strip, with Mapleton Public House up the range as a deck-and-pub alternative. One planning note for the area: Gardners Falls is a dog-free reserve under Sunshine Coast Council rules, so skip it as a post-lunch swim spot and use Mapleton Dog Park or the Ewen Maddock Dam tracks near Landsborough for the leg-stretch instead.
