Forrester's (the Forry) is a restored corner pub at 336 Riley and Foveaux Streets, and one of the most dog-welcoming venues in Surry Hills. Dogs are welcome throughout the whole pub, indoors and out, which is rare and makes it a genuine all-weather option with a dog.

The dog setup. Per the pub's own dog-friendly page, dogs are welcome across the entire venue, including the public and saloon bars, the Art Room, the Phyllis restaurant area, the balcony and the garden. Staff provide water bowls and treats. There is a Yappy Hour and a Dog Wall of Fame. If you have a larger dog, booking a table in the bar area is worth doing.

Good to know. Best known for the Sunday roast served in a giant Yorkshire pudding, alongside a solid pub menu, good beer and cocktails, live music on Friday and Saturday, and trivia nights. It also runs dog-centred events like an Easter dog show.

Getting there. A short, flat walk from Central Station and from Crown Street. Street parking on Riley Street and around can be competitive and metered, so check signage or walk.

Nearby with the dogs. Ward Park is a short walk for an off-leash run, and Frog Hollow Reserve on Riley Street is close by for a quieter break.
