The Clock

The Clock is a classic Surry Hills pub on the corner of Crown and Collins Streets, and a properly dog-friendly one. Dogs are welcome daily across most of the venue, which makes it a reliable spot for an after-walk drink or a long lunch with the dog along.

The dog setup. Per the pub's own dog-friendly page, dogs are welcome in all areas except the upper balcony level. The street-level courtyard, the front bar and the footpath seating are the easy choices. Keep your dog on a lead throughout. Staff are dog-savvy and water is usually available, though bring your own bowl to be sure.

Good to know. Modern Australian pub food (steak, fish and chips, pizzas) with a wide range of taps and cocktails, plus regular live music, trivia and sport. The courtyard is the spot to aim for with a dog.

Getting there. Well served by transit, near the Surry Hills light rail, Central Station and buses on Devonshire and Cleveland Streets. Street parking on Crown Street and nearby is metered and can be limited, so check signage.

Nearby with the dogs. Harmony Park is a short walk up towards Goulburn Street for some off-leash green space, and the Crown Street strip has plenty of other dog-friendly cafes if you are making a day of it.
