The dog setup. Dogs are welcome in the outdoor courtyard and decking at the rear and side, not inside the pub. Walk your dog through to the outdoor area, keep them on-leash, and bring a portable water bowl since the venue is accommodating but does not always have one out. Well-behaved dogs around other patrons are the expectation.

Good to know. The kitchen is known for its burgers, including Wagyu, halloumi and mushroom versions, plus fish and chips and fresh salads. The drinks list is broad across craft beer, gin and wine, with a properly poured pint of Guinness a regular order. Expect a quirky, old-pub fit-out and a casual crowd.

Getting there. Free street parking runs along Given Terrace and the side streets, but it fills fast on Friday and Saturday nights. Brisbane City Council buses stop along Given Terrace.

Nearby with the dogs. Neal Macrossan Park and its fenced off-leash run is a two-minute walk for before or after, and the village stretch of Given Terrace and Latrobe Terrace has plenty of dog-friendly footpath cafes.

When to go. Weeknights and weekend afternoons are calmer if your dog prefers space; Friday and Saturday evenings get busy and parking gets tight.
