Wolf of the Willows

Wolf of the Willows is an indie brewery and taproom at 39 De Havilland Road in Mordialloc, open Thursday evenings and long hours Friday through Sunday. The policy is clear: dogs are welcome in the outdoor beer garden and outdoor seating only, not inside the taproom under food safety rules, and they stay on a leash and supervised while the paddles pour.

The dog setup

The outdoor area is the whole deal here: a beer garden built for long sessions, with the taproom door reserved for humans. Leashed dogs settle fine because the space is roomy enough to stay clear of foot traffic, and the food side runs beyond standard brewery snacks, with schnitzel and bao buns on the regular order list. The tasting paddles are the standing order, letting you work through the core range and the seasonal taps in one sitting. Inside there is a games room with air hockey and a spirits selection that goes well past the house beers, but plan the visit around the weather because the dog seat is outdoors whatever the sky does: the garden has cover, but a wet-winter visit means choosing between the dog and the taproom. Weekend afternoons fill up fast, so an early arrival gets the best garden position for a dog that needs space, and staff are generally easy about a bowl of water if you ask when ordering at the counter.

De Havilland Road puts you in Mordialloc's industrial strip, a short hop from the bay. Kevin Hayes dog park is the natural pre-drink stop, with a coffee van on site for the walk itself, and George Woods Reserve adds another off-lead option nearby.
