Chadwick Reserve Dog Park

Chadwick Reserve Dog Park is a fenced off-leash facility inside the wider Chadwick Reserve off Howard Road in Dingley Village. It is fully gated and split into a large open run and a separate zone for small or shy dogs, which is the main reason to pick it: a nervous or little dog gets its own space away from the boisterous end.

The dog setup

The dog park is fully enclosed with double-gate entries and covers roughly 3,000 square metres, with a mix of grass and granitic sand underfoot, agility equipment, tree plantings for shade, and sheltered bench and picnic seating. Dogs are off-leash only inside the fence; everywhere else in Chadwick Reserve, including the playground, BBQ areas and BMX track, they stay on lead. Keep your dog under effective control, stay with them, and use the waste dispensers and bins provided. There is a drinking fountain with dog bowls on site, so water is covered.

The vibe

It is a purpose-built, well-maintained space rather than a repurposed corner of an oval, and locals use it steadily. Weekend mornings and weekday evenings after work and school are the busy windows; a weekday morning or early afternoon is the calmer session. If the main run feels chaotic, the small-dog section is the easy fallback.

Getting there and parking

The reserve is on Howard Road, Dingley Village, with a dedicated car park on site and the dog park sitting on the western side of the reserve. Buses run along Boundary Road and through the Dingley Village town centre for anyone arriving without a car.

Close by with the dogs

For another fenced session, the Kevin Hayes dog park with coffee van at Mordialloc and Tatterson Park Fenced Dog Park at Keysborough are both a short drive. The Spring Road Reserve off-leash dog park offers a bigger open run in the same suburb, and Sip Society Cafe and Bar is a local coffee stop.
