The Arbor

The Arbor is the open-air terrace and beer garden inside The Old Synagogue precinct at 92 South Terrace, Fremantle, serving craft beer, cocktails and modern pub food across a multi-level heritage site. The venue is openly dog-friendly: it advertises that dogs are welcome to join you on the lawn and in its outdoor spaces.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome in the beer garden and open-air areas, not inside the enclosed restaurant and bar rooms. The lawn gives you room to tuck a leashed dog under the table out of the foot traffic, and the venue provides water bowls. Keep your dog settled and comfortable around crowds, as the space is large and busy.

The vibe

Expect a long craft beer and cocktail list and a modern pub menu through to late, with live music on some days. It runs from 11:30am daily and stays open late, so it works as a lazy afternoon beer garden or an evening session. When a band is on it gets loud, which is worth weighing up for a noise-shy dog.

Pepsi: pick a table on the lawn edge rather than near the stage side. The garden fills fast once music starts, and a dog with a clear exit stays relaxed all afternoon.

Getting there

The precinct is at 92 South Terrace with entry off Parry Street, an easy walk through the heart of Fremantle. Street parking nearby fills quickly, so try the neighbouring blocks or a commercial car park.

While you're out there

Clancy's Fish Pub is another dog-friendly Freo drinking option, and GESHA Cafe covers the daytime coffee run. The Esplanade Reserve is a short walk for an on-lead leg stretch.
