Boundary Island Brewery

Boundary Island Brewery sits on Marina Quay in Erskine, looking straight across the Ramsar-listed Peel-Harvey estuary. It is a big, family-friendly waterfront venue with its own brewery, a wood-fired pizza oven and a Texan-style smoker, and dogs are welcome on lead in the outdoor seating, which makes it a rare genuine brewery-plus-dogs combination on the Mandurah water.

The dog setup

Dogs are permitted on lead in the outdoor waterfront area, which has plenty of tables and marina views. The indoor dining and bar areas are not for dogs. Water bowls are sometimes out, but carry your own portable bowl, especially on a warm day by the water.

Max: Keep your dog on lead the whole visit. This is a busy waterfront venue with a kids' playground and boat traffic close by, not a spot to let the lead go slack.

The vibe and the beer

The brewery has picked up multiple awards for beers like the Deckie IPA and Estuary Ale XPA, and the menu runs from wood-fired pizza to smoked meats and seafood. There is a large kids' playground built around the Esmerelda crayboat on site, so families and dogs work here together. Hours run from 11:30am weekdays and 8am weekends, staying open late Friday and Saturday. Weekday lunches are calmer than weekend afternoons, when the outdoor area and playground both fill.

Getting there and parking

The brewery is at 40 Marina Quay Drive, Erskine, a few minutes from central Mandurah, with ample public parking next to the venue. You can also arrive by boat with docking at Marina Quay, or on foot along the estuary walkways from the Mandurah foreshore.

Close by with the dogs

The estuary foreshore path out front is an easy pre- or post-lunch stroll on lead, and the fenced dog park at Dudley Park is the nearby option for a proper off-lead run. The Mandurah Quay Resort right next door is a pet-friendly stay if you are making a weekend of it, and Maggie's Muster Cafe in the same suburb covers the morning coffee stop.
