Maggies Muster Cafe

Maggie's Muster Cafe is a coffee van on the Osprey Waters foreshore in Erskine, right on the Mandurah estuary. It is a walk-up, takeaway-only stop, and that is exactly why it works with a dog: the whole visit happens outdoors, in parkland, with an estuary walk attached.

The dog setup

There is no indoor seating at all, so dogs are simply part of the scene: keep yours on lead in the surrounding reserve and along the paths while you carry your coffee. Free dog treats are usually on offer at the van, with a donation tin supporting the local K9 Rescue Group, and water bowls are often out, though a portable bowl is worth having as backup.

Worth knowing

The regulars are local dog walkers doing a lap of the foreshore, so it doubles as the best informal intelligence on the area if you are new in town. Wildlife is part of the draw, with pelicans and ospreys along the water and dolphins sometimes visible in the estuary, so keep the lead handy when the birds are close.

Getting there and parking

The van sits at the Osprey Waters Foreshore in Erskine, with parking at the reserve and easy access on foot along the estuary walking paths. Hours are limited: Monday from 7am to midday, then Friday to Sunday from 7am to about 1pm, with Tuesday to Thursday closed. Van hours can shift, so check its Facebook page before you head out.
