Last Drop Elizabethan

The Last Drop Elizabethan is a Tudor-village style pub in the Perth Hills at Bedfordale, half timber and fake falconry on the outside, a working microbrewery and serious kitchen on the inside. The Last Drop Brewery pours handcrafted beers and ciders on site, and dogs are welcome on a lead across the outdoor lawns, courtyard and beer garden.

The dog setup

Dogs stay in the outdoor areas: the courtyard, the lawns and the beer garden. The main indoor pub is not a dog space. Keep your dog leashed and close by; the grounds are big enough that a table on the lawn edge gives a settled dog room without foot traffic. Water bowls are generally out in the outdoor area, though it is worth asking staff on a hot day.

Max: book ahead for the Sunday roast, the lawn tables fill with local families and their dogs well before midday.

Worth knowing

The Sunday roast is the headline: a traditional roast plate served inside a giant Yorkshire pudding, and it draws crowds from across the hills, so booking ahead is the norm. The rest of the menu runs to hearty pub classics like beef and beer pie, Irish pork sausage with mash, parmi and loaded burgers. Kitchen hours run in sessions: 12pm to 2pm and 5:30pm to 8:30pm Monday to Thursday, later sessions Friday to 9pm, and 12pm to 8:30pm Saturday and Sunday; the venue's own Thursday trade varies, so check the site or call before a midweek visit.

Getting there and parking

The pub sits on Albany Highway at Bedfordale, about 40 minutes' drive from Perth's CBD and a few minutes south of Armadale, with its own car park. It is a natural lunch stop if you are coming back from a walk in the hills or heading further south toward Jarrahdale.

For a proper off-lead run before lunch, John Dunn Memorial Park Fenced Dog Park in Kelmscott and Harber Fenced Dog Park are both fully fenced with separate big and small dog sections, a short drive down the hill. The Honeyeater Hike starts in the same suburb for an on-lead bush leg first.
