Zuccoli Fenced Dog Park

Zuccoli Fenced Dog Park sits in the Zuccoli Community Hub at 13 Tuckeroo Boulevard, one of the City of Palmerston's purpose-built enclosed off-leash parks, opened in 2023 for the city's fast-growing southern suburbs. Its defining feature is the split into two fully fenced zones, one for high-energy play and one for dogs who want peace.

The dog setup

The large active dog area covers roughly 2300 square metres with agility and activity equipment plus a water play feature, while the separate quiet dog area runs about 700 square metres for timid, smaller or older dogs. The surface is a mix of open grass and sandy patches with mature trees and shaded shelters, and both zones have seating. Entry runs through a double-gate system, the park is wheelchair friendly, and bag dispensers and bins are provided.

The vibe

A modern suburban park integrated into the community hub rather than a bare fenced paddock. The playground, skate park, fitness equipment and BBQs next door mean families fold a dog session into a longer visit, and regulars tend to self-sort between the two zones. Open around the clock, though nobody sensible uses it at midday.

Max: if your dog prefers space away from high-energy play, head straight for the quiet area. It is notably smaller but keeps calmer dogs safely separated from the roughhousing next door.

Getting there and parking

Access is via Zuccoli Parade, with a dedicated car park directly at the adjacent Zuccoli Community Hub. Buslink buses service the Zuccoli and Palmerston residential areas with connections through to Palmerston city if you are not driving.

Worth knowing

Owners must stay inside the fence with their dogs at all times and work the double-gate entry properly so dogs cannot slip out as others arrive. Dogs in Palmerston public spaces need to be registered with the council, and you remain responsible for your dog's behaviour in the shared active zone. Check the water bowls before letting your dog drink, as the Top End sun heats everything exposed.

When to go

Early morning and evening are the only comfortable windows for much of the year; the build-up and wet season make midday visits unfair on any dog. Dry season evenings draw the biggest social crowd.
