Barnett Park Fenced Dog Park

Barnett Park Fenced Dog Park sits on Barnetts Road in Winston Hills, right beside Model Farms High School, and runs as a fully fenced off-leash area with separate sections for small and large dogs. That split is the defining feature: a nervous small dog gets its own space away from the boisterous crowd, which makes this one of the more relaxed fenced parks in Sydney's north-west.

How the park runs

Off-leash applies only inside the fenced area, entered through a double gate so dogs cannot slip out while the lead comes off. Your dog needs to stay under effective control, and any dog showing aggression is expected to be removed straight away.

The park opens 7am to 8pm daily under City of Parramatta management. Bins are usually stocked, but carrying your own waste bags is the safe habit.

What's there

The ground is mostly grass with a paved circuit path around the edge and some shaded spots, plus above-ground agility gear including hurdles and weave poles. There is a drinking fountain for dogs and plenty of benches, and the small-dog section is fully separate rather than a shared timetable.

Max: use the small dog section if yours gets overwhelmed by the big players, it is there specifically for that. Weekday mornings beat the 4pm crowd every time.

Getting there and parking

The park sits just off Barnetts Road, reached via the M2 or Windsor Road and Caroline Chisholm Drive, with street parking right by the entrance. CDC NSW buses stop on nearby roads if you are coming without a car.

When to go

Weekday afternoons from about 4pm and weekend mornings between 8am and 11am are the busy windows, filled with the local regulars. A mid-week morning is the quiet bet if your dog is shy or you want room to train.

Close by with the dogs

Winston Hills Mall is a couple of minutes away, where JUNE takes dogs outside for a post-park coffee. For more distance, the Pemulwuy Loop starts nearby, and Burlington Memorial Park in Northmead and Crestwood Reserve in Baulkham Hills are alternative fenced runs within a short drive.
