Wakeley Dog Park

Wakeley Dog Park is the fenced off-leash enclosure inside the Fairfield Showground grounds, and Fairfield City Council bills it as the city's biggest dedicated dog park. Full perimeter fencing with double safety gates is the defining feature: a secure space where a dog can run flat out without boundary worries.

The dog setup

The enclosure is grassed and open, built for running, fetch and social play. Double safety gates at the entries stop dogs slipping out during transitions, a water station has a built-in dog bowl, and seating runs around the perimeter. The enclosure is open around the clock, and a public toilet block and plentiful off-street parking sit within the showground grounds.

Worth knowing

Off-leash applies only inside the fenced enclosure. Everywhere else in the showground, including parking areas and footpaths, dogs stay on lead. Owners must remain inside the park with their dogs, keep voice control at all times and clean up after them. The showground hosts events through the year, so expect busier surrounds on those days and check access if something major is on.

Max: big, fenced and rarely packed on weekday mornings. If your dog needs a full gallop without recall requirements, this is the best value in Fairfield City.

Getting there

The park sits within the Fairfield Showground precinct off Smithfield Road, on the Wakeley and Prairiewood boundary. Driving is the practical option in this part of Sydney, with the showground's off-street parking directly alongside, and buses run along the surrounding main roads.
