Speargrass Community Park

Speargrass Community Park is a fully fenced off-lead dog park at 29 Speargrass Road, South Jerrabomberra (Tralee), NSW. The single defining feature is its bone-shaped design with separated areas for small and large dogs. The layout and amenities. The park spans expansive fully irrigated grassed areas with water stations for dogs, agility features, shaded seating for owners and a BBQ area. The rules. Dogs can be exercised off-lead within the fenced boundary. Owners must keep voice control over their dogs at all times. Poop-scoop bags and bins are provided and owners must clean up after their dogs. The fence is for containment, so dogs should still be kept secure and supervised, with particular attention to children and dogs in the large-dog area.

Getting there. Access is via Tompsitt Drive and the South Jerrabomberra estate roads. There is a dedicated 23-space car park on site. Private transport is recommended as there is no meaningful public transit to the park.

Watch-outs. The park is newly built and the newly planted trees do not yet give much shade, so midday can be hot in summer. Plan around the cooler parts of the day during warmer months.
