Kinlyside Avenue Fenced Dog Park is a fully enclosed, 24-hour off-leash run on Kinlyside Avenue in Jerrabomberra, just off the Monaro Highway. It is a long, narrow corridor rather than a garden-style park, and that shape is the whole point: a straight run built for fetch, with the fence doing the work of keeping dogs off the road.

The rules. Inside the fence line dogs can run off-leash. Outside it, on the surrounding grassland and street verges, keep them on lead. Owners are expected to keep dogs under effective voice control even off-leash, and to carry their own waste bags, there are no bin facilities noted on site.

What's there. The main feature is the full perimeter fencing, which is the reason to come. There is basic seating for owners but no water taps or bowls anywhere on site, so bring your own water and a travel bowl. Shade is limited, so plan for hot days accordingly.

Getting there. The park sits in a drainage reserve off Kinlyside Avenue, reached via the Jerrabomberra Parkway exit from the Monaro Highway. Street parking along Kinlyside Avenue is straightforward. Public transport is limited in this pocket, QCity Transit services the broader Jerrabomberra area, but driving is the practical option.

Watch-outs. The corridor shape makes it a poor fit for large, boisterous group meetups, there is not much room to create distance from another dog if things get tense. If yours is anxious around others, aim for a quieter window rather than peak times.

Nearby with the dogs. A short drive into Queanbeyan brings you to The Mill Café on Collett Street, which has a large dog-friendly garden and shady outdoor decking, useful for a coffee stop either side of a run.

Early mornings and the late afternoon window from around 4:30pm to 6pm draw the most dogs. If your dog needs space, a mid-morning or early-afternoon visit is the easier option, and Queanbeyan West Dog Park is a fallback if Kinlyside feels too busy on the day.
