Corramulling Park Dog Off Leash Area sits on Yoorala Street in The Gap, backing onto a bend in Enoggera Creek about 15 minutes north-west of the Brisbane CBD. This is an unfenced, off-lead park with direct creek access: large open grass for a run, shallow water for a paddle, and the Enoggera Creek Bikeway running past. It suits dogs with reliable recall rather than escape artists.

The dog setup

The main draw is the water. Dogs can walk straight into Enoggera Creek's shallow edges to cool off, which is worth a lot through a Brisbane summer. Beyond that there is expansive open space, creekside paths, a children's playground, sheltered picnic gazebos and a cricket pitch. There is no dog-specific equipment and no public toilets on-site, and drinking water taps can be limited, so carry a bottle and a bowl.

Worth knowing

Because the off-lead area is unfenced, Brisbane City Council's standard conditions do the heavy lifting: dogs must stay under effective voice control and within sight, you need to carry a leash, and dogs must be leashed around the playground and when entering or leaving the park. Keep dogs away from the barbecues and picnic shelters, and pick up waste. Queensland creeks rise fast after heavy rain, so skip the swim if the water is running high or brown.

Getting there

The main entrance and street parking are off Yoorala Street. TransLink buses along Waterworks Road, including the 381 and 385, get you close, with a short walk through residential streets. Concrete pathways and a viewing platform connect the park to the bikeway.

Make a day of it

If your dog needs a fence to play fair, The Gap has two: the Paten Park Fenced Dog Park and the Wittonga Park Fenced Dog Park are both in the suburb. Further up Mount Nebo Road, Walkabout Creek and Enoggera Dam add bushwalking and swimming options for a longer outing.
