Worth knowing

Off-leash applies strictly inside the enclosures, and dogs should use the yard that matches their size. Standard City of Port Adelaide Enfield leash rules apply across the rest of the reserve. A mixed group should agree on which gate they are using before anyone comes off the lead.

Getting there

The reserve is on Military Road, the main coastal route through Taperoo, with a large free car park immediately beside the fenced area including accessible bays. Adelaide Metro buses run along Military Road if you are arriving without a car. Weekday mid-mornings and early afternoons are the quiet windows, while weekend mornings and the post-work 5pm rush are busiest.

The wider reserve is set up for a full family outing, with free electric BBQs, picnic shelters, toilets and a big adventure playground, so nobody has to sit in the car. Ink Espresso @ The Fort is minutes away with dogs welcome in the outdoor courtyard, and the Adelaide Brighton Community Fenced Dog Park in Peterhead is another fenced option just south. The Taperoo beach stretch is off-leash year round, so a park session pairs neatly with a beach walk.
