St Clair Fenced Dog Park sits within the St Clair Leisure Centre and sports complex grounds, a fully fenced off-leash park open 24 hours a day. Its defining feature is the split into two secure enclosures, one for large dogs and one for small or timid dogs, which makes it a practical choice for owners who want a genuinely safe space rather than an open reserve.

The dog setup

Both zones are enclosed by high-quality secure fencing with double-gated entry points. Keep your dog leashed until you are inside the double gates, and leash up again before you exit. Dogs must be under effective voice control at all times, owners carry a leash, all dogs must be fully vaccinated, and no dog is left unattended. Penrith City Council lists the park among its dedicated dog parks, and the house rules are strict for good reason given the volume of dogs that cycle through.

House rules worth noting

Clean up after your dog immediately, with waste bins provided on site, but there are no poo bag dispensers, so bring your own. Smoking, alcohol, food, bikes, scooters and skateboards are all kept out of the fenced area, which keeps the yard predictable for dogs that startle. The no-food rule also means leaving the picnic lunch in the car rather than settling in at the fence line. Bench seating and a water station cover the owners and the dogs, and there are no public toilets directly at the dog park.

The address is 50 St Clair Avenue, St Clair, with ample free parking across the leisure centre complex. The park is an easy drive from Erskine Park, Colyton and the M4 corridor, and the sportsground setting means the surrounding precinct is busy with families on weekends.

Close by with the dogs

Werrington dog off-leash area at Kingswood is the nearest alternative run, and Parx Coffee House in Cranebrook is a short drive north for the coffee leg.
