Parx Coffee House Cranebrook

Parx Coffee House is a slick all-day cafe at 1a/13 Renshaw Street in Cranebrook, with a spacious outdoor area where leashed dogs are welcome, and staff who actually like having dogs around. The menu runs well beyond standard cafe fare, and the venue sits comfortably among the top-rated cafes in the Penrith region.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome at the outdoor tables, on a lead and settled. The seating area is well presented with enough room between tables that you are not wedged against the next party, which makes it easier for a dog to lie down and stay out of the traffic. Staff are known to offer puppuccinos, so your dog may well get served before you do. Bring your own water bowl as a safe backup.

The vibe and the menu

The kitchen covers an unusually wide range for a suburban cafe: a smash burger with truffle mayo and crunch fries, lamb wraps on Turkish bread, a mezze board, pumpkin salad, all-day breakfast plates and Parx pancakes with Nutella, Biscoff or maple syrup, plus a kids menu. Coffee is the exclusive Will & Co blend, and the lemon ginger shot has a quiet following. Hours are 6am to 3:30pm weekdays and 7am to 3pm weekends. Weekends fill around brunch, so arrive early for an outdoor table.

Getting there and parking

The cafe sits in a small complex on Renshaw Street a short drive from central Penrith, with parking on site that fills quickly on weekends; the surrounding streets are the fallback. Weekday mornings are the easiest window for an outdoor table with a dog in tow.

Cranebrook is well placed for dog exercise either side of coffee: the fenced run at Jordan Springs is a short drive north, the off-leash area at Werrington sits toward Penrith, and Cassandra's on the Park at St Marys is another dog-friendly cafe option in the region.
