Springfield Lakes Dog Park

Springfield Lakes Dog Park on Grande Avenue is a large, fully fenced off-leash area with a loyal local following, agility equipment, and enough native bush and hilly ground to feel like more than a flat exercise square. It is the main fenced run for the Springfield Lakes side of Ipswich's south-west growth corridor, and the bush backdrop makes it feel a world away from the subdivision around it.

The dog setup

The fenced area is off-leash, with dogs kept on lead entering and leaving and under effective voice control once inside. Clean up and use the bins, and if a dog turns aggressive or reactive the expectation is a leash and a quick, no-drama exit.

Secure perimeter fencing and gates wrap the whole run, and there is agility gear, benches and shaded seating under established trees. Waste bag dispensers are usually stocked, but carry your own as backup, and the water fountains can be patchy with maintenance, so pack a bowl if your dog needs a reliable top-up.

Max: the ground here is hilly with gravel patches, so it wears nails down fast. Skip the ball fetch downhill if your dog is hard on their joints and let them sniff the bush edge instead.

Expect regulars: this park draws a consistent local crowd, especially before work and in the late afternoon. The terrain gives dogs more to do than most suburban runs, and the tree cover makes summer mornings workable.

Getting there

The park sits at 57 Grande Avenue, Springfield Lakes, with free street parking along the avenue. It fills around peak times, so a short walk from a side street is often quicker than circling for a spot out front.

For a second fenced option, Sirius Fenced Dog Park is up the road in Springfield Central and Opossum Creek Parklands Fenced Dog Park in Brookwater adds a creek-side on-lead track. Remedy Espresso Cafe in the lakes precinct is an easy dog-friendly coffee stop on the way home.
