Ryde Park Fenced Dog Park is a fully fenced off-leash area at 31 Blaxland Road, Ryde, set within the wider Ryde Park. It is open 24 hours and gets heavy use from locals thanks to the secure, fully enclosed grass area.

The rules. Dogs must be supervised by a competent handler at all times and return to command, with a limit of four dogs per person. Dangerous or restricted dogs under the Companion Animals Act are not permitted, and owners must remove waste immediately.

What's there. Double-gated entry for safer arrivals and departures, a water tap with bowl, a sheltered table for shade, and bag dispensers with bins on site. The grass takes a beating in wet weather and heavy use, so expect a worn surface at times.

Getting there. Parking is available on surrounding streets and in dedicated spots around Ryde Park. Bus stops on Blaxland Road are within easy walking distance.

Nearby with the dogs. A cafe sits adjacent to the park, with more options at Top Ryde Shopping Centre a short drive away.

The double gate is handy for a nervous first-timer. Let your dog suss out the entry area before diving into the main hill.

When to go. Early mornings from 7 to 8.30am and late afternoons from 4.30 to 6pm on weekdays are busiest, along with weekend mornings. Mid-morning or after 7pm in summer is calmer, better for a timid dog that needs room to settle in.
