King George V Park Fenced Dog Park

King George V Park carries a fully fenced off-leash dog park at 509 Concord Road, Rhodes, set back from the Parramatta River foreshore. In a suburb built wall to wall with apartments, a shaded, enclosed run is the whole pitch: a reliable daily exercise spot for local dogs, secure enough to switch off for half an hour.

The dog setup

The enclosure has steel-bar fencing and a secure double-gated entry, and the off-leash area is reported as available 24 hours, though there is no lighting inside, so after dark it is impractical rather than forbidden. Dogs are off-leash only within the fence; the surrounding park is on-lead territory, and City of Canada Bay expects dogs on-lead when moving between gate and car or path. A water fountain with a tipping bowl sits at the entrance gate, with benches and a waste bin with bag dispenser around the run.

Two cautions from the layout. The enclosure sits near six-lane Concord Road, so even inside the fence, keep a close eye on nervous dogs that spook at traffic noise. And the double-gated entry needs care at busy times, because the evening apartment crowd funnels through a small space. Confirm current rules on the City of Canada Bay listing before you rely on them; council settings do get revised.
