Olympic Dog Park

Olympic Dog Park sits on the corner of Potts Street and Margaret Street in Gladesville, within the City of Ryde. It is a popular off-leash spot built around a large grassy hill dogs love sprinting up and down, open 24 hours.

The rules. This park is only partially fenced, with gaps around the boundary, so it suits dogs with reliable recall rather than escape artists. Dogs must stay under effective voice control, be supervised by a competent handler, and owners are limited to four dogs each. Dogs declared dangerous or restricted under the Companion Animals Act are not permitted, and all waste must be cleaned up immediately.

What's there. A dog drinking station, poo bag dispensers and bins, and benches at the top of the hill for owners keeping watch. The park adjoins a children's playground.

Getting there. Free on-street parking runs along Potts Street and nearby roads. Local buses along Victoria Road stop within a five to ten minute walk.

When to go. Weekday mornings and late afternoons draw the biggest crowds, along with weekend mornings. For a shy or reactive dog, midweek midday is quieter and the ground is less churned up after rain.
