Glenefer Street Park Fenced Dog Park

Glenefer Street Park's fenced dog area is a community-scale option in Runcorn: a fully enclosed, double-gated space set inside a wider park with walking paths and basketball courts. It is the quiet alternative in the suburb, best for dogs that do better in a smaller crowd than the big fenced parks down the road.

The dog setup

Off-leash play is allowed only inside the fenced perimeter; Brisbane City Council rules put dogs back on-lead the moment you step into the surrounding parkland. Keep voice control on, clean up promptly with your own bags, and leash and remove any dog showing aggression. Along the fence line there are benches with some shaded seating, and a small obstacle or training course for variety. A water tap and bowl are reported on site but supply is inconsistent, so bring your own water to be safe. Lighting is poor, so this is a daytime park, not an after-dark one.

Worth knowing

A few visitors have reported snakes near the grass edges in warmer months, worth a scan of the perimeter before an off-lead session in summer. The turf also gets muddy and worn after rain, so old shoes and a paw towel earn their keep in the wet season.
