A large, open grassy reserve at 16-24 Argyle Street with a sports field and a few shade trees, designated for off-leash exercise. It is generally quiet and spacious, good for a run and a socialise, but it is not fully fenced.

The rules. Dogs are off-leash within the designated area and on lead everywhere else around it. Keep your dog under effective voice or hand control at all times, and lead up if you head into the southern picnic and playground area. Clean up and use the bins provided.

What's there. Owner seating, rubbish and recycling bins, and a small playground in the southwest corner. Shade is limited to a few trees and there is no dog water tap, so bring your own water and bowl. Free street parking nearby.

Getting there. Near the corner of Argyle Street and Cheddar Road, with street parking on Argyle Street. Reservoir and Ruthven stations are a moderate walk, and bus routes 555 and 556 run along Cheddar Road.

Unfenced with a sports field alongside, so a dog that bolts after a ball or a runner needs solid recall here. Bring water too, the shade is thin.

Busiest weekday afternoons after school and work, and weekend mornings. Weekday mornings are the quiet stretch.
