The rules. Dogs can run off-leash inside the fenced areas but must stay under effective voice control. An adult needs to be with them at all times, waste must be picked up immediately using the bags and bins provided, and aggressive dogs need to be removed straight away. Getting there. The reserve is on Fernbrooke Boulevard with parking near the entrance. The closest bus stops are on the surrounding residential streets and Redbank Plains Road, worth checking TransLink for current timetables before relying on it.

Nearby with the dogs. Redbank Plains Town Square, about five to seven minutes' drive away, has cafes with outdoor seating suited to a leashed coffee stop. For an overnight stay, ask ahead at the Redbank Plains Motor Inn to confirm current pet policy, or look at holiday rentals around Redbank Plains and Brookwater.

When to go. Busiest on Sunday afternoons and evenings, Monday mornings and Thursday nights. Tuesday evening through Wednesday morning and Friday mornings tend to be quieter, with more room to move. Good for dogs that do best with a bit of space rather than a packed yard.
