Redbank Plains Recreation Reserve Fenced Dog Park

The fenced dog park inside Redbank Plains Recreation Reserve on Willow Road is a 24-hour, dual-enclosure off-leash facility, and it anchors a reserve complex that has most of what a dog-owning family could ask for: playgrounds, BBQs, a scooter track and skate ramps alongside the dog zones. For Redbank Plains locals it's the default run, and the fencing plus lighting make it usable early and late.

The dog setup

Two fully fenced enclosures sit side by side, one for small dogs and one for large or active dogs, separated so the energy levels don't have to mix. Entry is through double-gated airlock transitions, and chain-wire security fencing surrounds both zones. Inside there are water stations and bowls, waste bag dispensers and bins, agility equipment for dogs that want a job, and covered gazebos with seating for owners. The park is lit for evening visits and mature trees add shade through the day.

House rules: stay inside the enclosure with your dog, keep them responsive to voice commands even within the fence, use the right zone for your dog's size, and clean up immediately. If a dog gets aggressive or unruly, the expectation is to leash up and leave rather than ride it out. As with most public off-leash spaces, unvaccinated puppies and dogs in heat are best left at home.

Worth knowing

Max: hold a tight lead on arrival. It's a busy shared entry, so wait until you're through the gates and can see which section suits your dog before letting go.

Early mornings and late afternoons on weekdays draw the biggest crowds, and weekends stay busy with socialising dogs. Midday on a weekday is the quiet window if your dog needs space. This is a park for confident dogs that enjoy company; the small-dog zone gives quieter dogs an out, but expect a full house at peak times.

Getting there and parking

The reserve complex is off Willow Road, with a sealed car park beside the fenced entrance and free, reasonably generous parking. Bus stops on Cedar Road put you a short walk from the reserve if you're coming by public transport.
