Young Street Fenced Dog Park

Young Street Fenced Dog Park at 7 Young Street, East Orange, is a fully fenced, round-the-clock off-leash park with one feature regional dogs rarely get: separate yards for large and small dogs. It is a practical, no-fuss enclosure that does the basics well, and it is one of several fenced options Orange has quietly built out.

The dog setup

The park splits into partitioned sections so high-energy big dogs and smaller or timid ones are not sharing the same run, with double-gated airlocks on the entries to stop escapes mid-unclip. Orange City Council's standard rules apply: stay inside with your dog, keep voice or visual control at all times, leash and leave if things turn aggressive, and pick up into the on-site bins. Bring your own bags as backup, and keep dogs in heat or unwell dogs at home.

Max: the fence backs onto houses, so expect some fence-line barking sessions. If your dog joins in, move to the far side rather than letting it become a habit.

Worth knowing

There is bench seating, a water tap with bowls and waste bins, but the trees are still young, so shade is patchy and summer visits should aim for morning or evening with your own water bottle. The open grassed yard gives plenty of fetch room, and the split yards make it a smart pick for small or nervous dogs that struggle in mixed-size parks.

Getting there and parking

The park sits in residential East Orange near the Young Street and Webb Street corner, with street parking on Young Street. Orange's town centre is a few minutes away by car, with the train station and the main cafe strip easy to combine on the way home.

When to go

Weekday mornings and early afternoons are the calm windows. Weekday evenings from about 4 to 6pm and weekend mornings draw the after-work and regular crowds, so pick the lull if your dog needs room to settle.
