MPB Dog Park

MPB Dog Park is a fully fenced, double-gated dog park in Lions Park on Park Drive, Moore Park Beach, a small coastal community about 20 to 25 minutes north of Bundaberg. Bundaberg Regional Council built it in 2022 after community consultation, and it sits close enough to the beach and the local pet-friendly motel to make a solid stop on a coastal day out.

The rules

Dogs stay leashed in the surrounding Lions Park grounds and car park, then can run off-lead once inside the double-gated enclosure. Owners are expected to remain inside with their dogs under voice and sight control, to pick up waste, and to leash up and leave if play turns aggressive. Standard council off-leash expectations apply, and the posted signage at the gate is the version that counts.

What's there

Two fenced zones, one for small dogs and one for all dogs, with agility extras including weave poles, hurdles, a balance bridge and jump-throughs. Shaded pod and bench seating covers the owners, and a dual human and dog water bubbler sits at the double-gated entrance. Parking is free right next to the park.

Getting there

Turn off the main road into Moore Park Beach from Bundaberg; the park sits in Lions Park on Park Drive. There is no public transport to speak of, so a private vehicle is the practical option, though it is walkable from nearby holiday accommodation.

Close by with the dogs

The Moore Park Beach Inn pet-friendly motel is right nearby, and the beach is a short walk away for an on-lead stroll, since Bundaberg Regional Council keeps coastal foreshores on-lead outside designated zones, so check the signage at your access point. If you are working the region, Burnett Heads Dog Park and Bargara Off leash dog park are the other fenced options to the south.

When to go

Early morning and after 4pm tend to be the busiest times with local walkers, while mid-morning is usually quiet. Good for a leg-stretch before or after a beach walk, and worth bringing your own water bowl in summer even though the bubbler covers the basics.
