Tooronga Park Dog Off Leash Area

Tooronga Park is a long, narrow strip of green space on Weir Street, squeezed between the railway line and the freeway, with mature trees that make it a quieter option than Malvern's bigger off-leash grounds.

Tooronga Road and the Glen Iris shopping strip nearby have dog-friendly cafes with outdoor seating, though it's worth confirming which ones welcome dogs on the day, as this changes. Pet-friendly stays in the area are mostly short-term rentals rather than dedicated pet hotels, so confirm at booking.

When to go. Weekday mornings are the calmest time. The park gets busier on weekday afternoons and weekends. Because it's long and narrow, you can usually walk away from a crowded stretch and find a quieter spot under the trees further along.
