This unrestricted off-leash reserve sits south of Laverton Creek on Bladin Street, opposite McCormack Park. It is open, un-fenced parkland rather than a formal dog park, and the main draw is simple: dogs can run free across the whole grassed area without a designated leash zone to watch for.

The rules. Dogs need to be under effective voice or hand control at all times and must return immediately when called. Carry a leash and use it around other dogs, people, or the nearby public paths. Waste must be picked up; bag dispensers and bins are provided on site.

What's there. Expect a large open grass area, a waste station with bags and a bin, and wheelchair-accessible parking. There is no fencing, so it suits dogs with reliable recall better than nervous or bolt-prone ones.

Getting there. Limited street parking is available along Bladin Street, and the reserve also connects to the Laverton Creek walking paths. Laverton and Aircraft stations are both a short trip away if you are coming by train.

With no fence between the reserve and the street, keep new or excitable dogs on a long line until you know their recall holds up around traffic noise.

When to go. Weekday mornings and late afternoons tend to be busiest with locals. Mid-morning or early afternoon usually means more space to yourselves. Good for confident dogs with solid recall rather than nervous or easily distracted ones.
