Lake Albert Dog Park

Lake Albert Dog Park, officially the O'Halloran Park Dog Agility Track, sits at the corner of Lakeside Drive and Lake Albert Road. The drawcard is simple: a fenced off-leash agility course paired with direct access to the 5.5-kilometre on-leash walking track circling the lake.

The rules. The fenced agility track is the designated off-leash zone. Dogs must stay on-leash everywhere else around Lake Albert, including the full 5.5-kilometre perimeter walking track and surrounding parkland. Owners must maintain effective control and clean up after their dogs, with bins typically provided in the recreational areas. A second off-leash area, the Lake Albert Boat Club Off-Leash Area, sits between Plumpton Road and the boat club car park on the southern side of Nelson Road.

What's there. The agility track is fully fenced and fitted with fixed, specialised agility equipment for training and play. Outside the fence, the wider Apex Park side of the lake offers BBQ shelters, car parking, and playgrounds. It is an open space suited to high-energy runs followed by a more structured lake loop.

Getting there. Drive in via Lake Albert Road or Lakeside Drive. Ample street parking is available along Lakeside Drive and in the nearby recreational car parks. You can also reach the agility track on foot via the 5.5-kilometre perimeter track if you are already walking the lake.

Watch-outs. The open exercise area turns muddy after rain, so save your visit for dry spells. In summer the lack of shade makes the track genuinely hot, so carry water for your dog and avoid the middle of the day.
