Lake Albert Dog Park

Lake Albert Dog Park is officially the O'Halloran Park Dog Agility Track at the corner of Lakeside Drive and Lake Albert Road in Wagga Wagga, and its pairing is the draw: a fenced off-leash agility course on one side and the 5.5-kilometre on-leash walking track around the lake on the other.

The dog setup

The agility track is fully fenced and fitted with fixed equipment for structured play and training: weaving poles, a seesaw, walking ramps, tunnels and jumps at different levels. It suits high-energy dogs that need more than an open field, and the enclosure keeps a keen nose from wandering to the water.

The fenced track is the only off-leash zone here. Council rules apply during daylight hours: effective control at all times, waste in the bins, dogs wearing current ID tags and lifetime registration, and declared dangerous, menacing or restricted breeds not permitted. Bikes, scooters and wheeled toys stay out of the enclosure.

Max: clip the lead back on the moment you leave the agility gate. The lake path is on-leash for its full 5.5km loop and rangers do patrol the shared path.

The vibe

The mix of structured agility plus a flat, paved lakeside loop makes this a training ground and a social park at once, and it stays busy with regulars who lap the lake after a session on the equipment. BBQ shelters, parking and playgrounds sit on the Apex Park side for families splitting the visit.

Getting there and parking

The park is about ten minutes south of central Wagga, with car parking along Lakeside Drive near the entrance. The lake loop starts from the same side, so you can park once and do both halves of the outing.
