Stradbroke Park sits at 1369 Burke Road, Kew East, a flat, open reserve of sports fields with mature trees for partial shade. The off-leash area is the grassy space around the sports fields, and it doubles as a busy community hub for walkers, joggers, and sports clubs.

The rules. Dogs can run off-leash at any time except when organised sports training or matches are underway on the fields. Keep dogs on-leash in the car park, on pathways, and during matches, and stay at least 10 metres from the playground or school activities. Carry a leash at all times and keep your dog under voice control.

What's there. A car park directly off Burke Road, a water tap and bowl near the sports pavilion, bench seating, and waste bins around the perimeter. Lighting is limited and mostly focused on the sports field.

Getting there. Easiest by car via Burke Road. The number 48 tram on High Street stops about 550 metres away.

Nearby. High Street in Kew and Kew East has a run of dog-friendly cafes within easy reach.

Winter sport season (April to September) brings the biggest crowds on weekday mornings before 9am, evenings after 5pm, and most of the weekend. Mid-morning to early afternoon on weekdays is quieter. If the fields are booked out with a match, Hays Paddock nearby is a reliable backup.
